Clean and comfortable accommodations with an Island decor.: Locking private bathroom a step across a private path was also shiny clean. Overhead fan really helped cool the nighttime temps, given no AC..
We were able to microwave our store bought dinners and use the mini fridge to store breakfast items.
Clean, non-smoking property. Within a short walk to the Kahaluu beach park (fine snorkeling). The Maile suite has a nice little kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, so we were able to cook for ourselves. The facility has "loaner" beach chairs, masks, snorkels, etc. Friendly and helpful staff. A couple of the resident geckos paid us a friendly visit (my wife was quite delighted!)
Room cleanness, location and smooth self check in and check out
Will, the manager, was around quite a bit and was responsive to a couple of little issues that we encountered: a broken knob on the light switch for the outside common area sink and the missing/misplaced plastic bin for food items that should have been in our room. Will also responded pretty quickly when we ran out of toilet paper early on Sunday morning. The common kitchen and eating area, with grill, gas stove, and full-size refrigerator are wonderful and quite well stocked. Inside the Mauna Kea building is a small lounge area, beach gear, a small book selection, washer and dryer.
Very close to the beach, which had excellent snorkeling. Close to the market and restaurants.
