Staff are great and trained to give you the best shark experience. The hostel is basic but serves the purpose. The blanket was a thin sheet not enough to sleep in the ac room. I had to put all my winter clothes on to fall sleep.

If you want to see the whale sharks there’s no better option. It’s literally located at the entrance of the line to await permits in the morning. The lady who owns the place also sets up the morning queue. You will be guaranteed the first boat out in the morning. She will accompany you the whole process till you’re on the boat. Once you get the permit in the wee hours of the morning you can simply walk the few step n be back at the hostel to rest for a bit. Did not realize how long the line is till we walked out the gate in the morning. She can save you hours of standing in line and guarantee a spot.

Perfect location, the whaleshark center is right out of the hostel gate. Come here by 24/7 Ceres Bus (Cebu to Bato via Oslob) from Cebu South Terminal and they can drop you right off the gate of Whaleshark Center. Rooms are simple but good for just one night rest before going to whaleshark, if you are an environmentalist this activity is not recommended since it’s hurting the ecosystem of whalesharks here by feeding them to lure them to stay here for tourists to take photos. Don’t worry you will not forget to wake up for the whaleshark cos the chickens will definitely wake you up at 4am. If you go with the owners to whaleshark tour you will probably be the first few in line cos no others can beat their location. If you come here with plenty of time, no need to rush to the queue at 5am, you can just have a good sleep and go there after 10am or 11am, almost no queue at all. The owner’s family is extremely friendly and helpful. Even when I woke the son up at 2:30 am.
