Friendly hosts, one even came out to the car and helped us with our luggage. The room was comfortable. The menu for dinner was limited but well cooked. We enjoyed our stay and would use the hotel again.
Staff were friendly and helpful without being over effusive. Room was spotless and well arranged. My dog was welcomed. Lovely litte park over the road.

The hotel is what you expect from a 2 star french hotel. The staff great check-in was straightforward. The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of storage for a couple of days stay. We opted to pay for breakfast, which was good value with quality food. The location for Royat was ideal, and the parking was good.
A hidden gem. Looks tatty from the outside but rooms are clean and spacious. Evening meal was truly excellent. New chef about a year ago apparently and his menu is excellent. Breakfast is very basic but OK (obviously without the chef!). Very reasonably priced and nice gardens and stream opposite for a stroll with/without a dog.
