This hotel is smack in the middle of the Fort area close to all the action. You can walk out the door and immediately start siteseeing, shopping, and enjoying the charming vibe of Galle Fort. Tons of great restaurants and shops all around. The restaurant served a great breakfast that was included in our rate. We had two rooms up a tiny spiral staircase, so this might be difficult with babies, toddlers, or seniors. It was fine for us and we enjoyed having a whole section to ourselves. The rooms faced a wall, so don't pick this hotel for the views, but it was definitely quiet, even tho we were close to lots of restaurants with live music. The staff are kind and helpful and it's overall fantastic value.
As a family of 5, with 3 young children, the Secret Garden hotel was a perfect choice for a night in Galle Fort. We stayed in the Queen Deluxe Suite, which provides 2 bedrooms with double beds and a large en-suite bathroom. Although the second bedroom was small, with the double bed surrounded on 3 sides by walls, it was still very adequate for our needs and there was still space for a cot in this room, provided by the hotel. The suite was on the top floor, up 2 flights of spiral stairs but the staff were very helpful with our bags etc. The location on Pedlar Street in the centre of the fort is excellent and the breakfast provided also great. Would stay again!
