Located in the central area of Atami and a 15-minute walk from JR Atami Station, Guest House MARUYA offers capsule rooms fitted with Japanese futon-bedding. Guests can take a few minutes' walk to soak in the nearby hot springs or a 10-minute drive to visit the Atami Castle. JR Shinyokohama Station can be reached with a 50-minute ride on the shinkansen (bullet train). Haneda Airport is a 2-hour drive away from the property. There is a shared kitchen and lounge, where guests can socialize and relax. Washing machines and towel rentals are available at a surcharge. Each room at MARUYA Guest House comes with a power outlet and clothes hangers. Bathroom facilities are shared with other guests. I like the friendliness of the staff. They were proactive and reached out to me and were super friendly and helpful versus rigid like at other accommodations.
It’s a cozy, welcoming “capsule hotel”. Unlike other common Japanese capsules hotels that just have curtains at the end of your section, they have a lockable door for extra peace of mind. The “room” with the extra space is really useful for travelers that have luggage that they want to keep with them instead of in a common area. Staff are also super friendly and there is a range of discount coupons available for some nearby attractions.
Short walk to the beach, restaurants near by, private capsule style bedroom.
Great facilities, extremely friendly helpful staff, there were train cancellations due to a typhoon and their communication with us was excellent to make sure we could make it. Extremely quiet sleeping capsule with a lot of space for two of us, lots of kitchen equipment, and free tea and coffee (coffee beans!). We would gladly stay again!
