The location excellent. It's near Mount Hakodate with restaurants and interesting Meiji era buildings within walking distance. The owners are really sweet people and exceedingly hospitable and helpful. The house is nicely decorated. The rooms and shared facilities were spotlessly clean.

Our hosts were wonderful! They were super friendly and welcoming, and happy to chat with us in Japanese despite our rough language skills. They drove us to the train station with our luggage when we checked out and even surprised us with a small gift. The Japanese style room was spacious, easy to make dark for sleeping and well temperature controlled, and the futons were comfortable. The upstairs lounge was nice for sitting and had hot water for tea and coffee. The whole house, especially the downstairs, was covered in unique and delightful decorations! Every surface had something charming, and the upstairs guest spaces had enough to delight but not so many that it interfered with using the space. The location is a bit far from Hakodate station, but in the middle of the historic downtown and walking distance from museums and sightseeing.

Local attractions all accessible on foot. Beautiful tatami mat room with comfy futon & comforter. Quirky artistic decor. Washer and dryer available for 400 yen total. Very nice hosts.

The hosts were friendly and very accommodating. The Japanese-style breakfast was delicious and incorporated a variety of traditional tastes. I had great conversations with the hosts who treated me like family, and the location was close to an interesting part of Hakodate which was easily walkable. I hope to return again!

Amazing place to stay in Hakodate, owned by a lovely couple that look after their guests really well. Very clean and comfortable room, has a really spacious bathroom area. The place is a short walk to a tram stop that takes you to the city center. The owner was kind enough to take us to the station when we checked out.
