Great location with friendly staff and large room with good view.
The location is great and near a bunch of good places to eat. The beds are tall, so you can put your luggage under them to maximize walking/room space.
Not groundbraking, but the room was super clean and spacious enough for two people.
Toyoko hotel was a typical sized Japanese hotel. We rented two rooms to host four people. The check in process was via consul, but the staff were there to help keep the check in process going. The hotel is very close to the Himeji station (5-8 minute walk) and a 15 minute walk from the Himeji castle. We were lucky enough to be there for the cherry blossoms and the associated festival. We found the included breakfast to be robust offering mostly Japanese fair, but they had pastries and some other options Western like options including eggs (rolled in a Japanese fashion) and sausages. The breakfast was buffet style and the cooks on site were very friendly. I noted that foreigners were the minority at the breakfast, and I got the sense that this hotel chain is popular with Japanese business people. We did find the beds to be on the hard side and on the uncomfortable side for those with hips. However, I would definitely book with them again.
Good and delicious breakfast. We could store our baggages before checking in and after checking out so that we could spend more time around Himeji.
