The property is small but beautifully put together. The entryways, hallways, rooms are decorated beautifully. The room does not have a window (except for in the bathroom) but the hotel is upfront about this. It did not bother us at all. Staff were welcoming, responsive on WhatsApp when we arrived (very!!!) late at night, helpful with tours and overall just friendly. Saurabh at the front desk was always so warm and helpful!! Breakfast had a small but nice selection. The phoa was delicious! For us, location was great. Short walk to the Assi ghat and others Ghats as well as and local buzz. For some it may be harder to get to as you cannot drive up to the hotel but it's also 2 minutes walk from the main Road. They will email you about this on booking and will offer assistance. We had backpacks and did not need help finding the hotel, but the offer is there. This is one of our favourite stays while in India!

Gully ghar was a comfortable stay for me. The staff is amazing and helpful. I was in a rush the next morning so they helped me book a taxi for me as well. Bed is huge, comfortable and in quiet gully , away from noises. I recommend it.

I stayed at Gully Ghar in November 2024 and found them fantastic. As a solo female traveller I felt so safe staying here. I had a private room with private bathroom, everything was very clean, and the place is only a few minutes walk away from Assi Ghat which is perfect for morning and evening Aarti. Saurabh was so kind and welcoming and was able to organise anything! He sent a long list of restaurant recommendations and suggestions on sights to see through WhatsApp which was very helpful. Thanks to him i get to meet Ram As my tour Guide Who Gave me Tour of the City on His helicopter (bike) I had wonderful Tour of the city with him. He also Invited me For the join weeding Ceremony That was my highlight we went his friends they were all lovely and nice..I hope to come back to Varanasi one day and I will definitely stay here again! I recommend this place to everyone

The owners, Mr. Saurabh & his wife Mrs. Sweety, were amazing. Extremely friendly and tried their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooftop was a great place to meet fellow travelers and the lemon tea served was delicious.
