I had a wonderful experience at Ganpati Guest House in Varanasi, located right on the banks of the holy Ganga River. The hotel arranged a taxi and porter for a small fee, which made it easy and convenient to reach the property and also ensured a smooth return trip to the airport.
The hotel is very well maintained, and the on-site restaurant serves delicious and flavorful food. I also took part in their guided walking tour, which was excellent. Within 4 to 5 hours, we were able to visit several important temples, witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti, and enjoy a serene boat ride all the way to Assi Ghat.
Please note, this is a classic heritage-style hotel, and the building is older—as one should expect in a historic city like Varanasi. Overall, I highly recommend Ganpati Guest House for a comfortable and culturally rich stay.
Very close to the river and there was an amazing music school inside the guest house area! Made a great stay excellent.
Very nice hotel. We stayed in economy rooms with no view, however we still saw Ganga from our windows, and it was more quiet. The rooms were clean, spacious and newly refurbished, with the nets on windows to avoid mosquitos and monkeys. The location is awesome, few minutes from the Meer ghat. All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant is quite good for that area.
Staff, food, and location were excellent for the purpose of our trip. The area is quite loud, even at night. Loved how close is to Ganges River and main ghats.
