There was a shuttle I requested that picked us up from the airport and dropped us the next day. The employees were very kind and helpful despite their lack of English and they provided bottles of water in the room and a large jug in the lobby. Overall it was a good place to stay during my 13hr layover in Kunming.
The beds were quite hard and uncomfortable, but that's pretty standard in Asia. Additionally, the bathroom didn't have a squeegee so after showering, the entire bathroom was soaked.
