Lovely room in a fantastic pub close to the centre of Durham. Staff extremely friendly, with parking for example, room was great.
Really quiet, clean and comfortable. A lovely place!
Breakfast was not an option at the hotel but the information book in our room provided locations nearby where breakfast could be sourced. This was also supported by the gentleman who showed us to our room when we arrived and pointed out where to park at the rear of the building. The location was perfect for our needs as we were close to both St. Mary's College at Durham University and also Durham Cathedral both of which were well within walking distance. The local restaurants were also within walking distance. For anyone attending an event at Durham Cathedral I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay. It is a listed building and quite quirky but it's clean with a comfy bed and I believe all the rooms are en suite. They also serve a variety of ales in the small bars on the ground floor.
The room and building were delightful, decorated throughout with Victorian art and pictures of Albert and Queen Victoria. But the main attraction was the Victoria pub in the building, also owned by the proprietor: lovely and quaint.
