The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. I arrived late and took off in the morning. But, what I saw seemed to be a good value for the money in Carlsbad.
I previously stayed at another hotel in Carlsbad for a similar price. The room was barely bigger than the bed. It was great having the spacious room at Great Western. As I remember, the heater was comfortable and quiet too.
Reasonable price in an oil boom town where the prices are high.

A comforting/relaxing experience. From friendly staff to a clean room. Parking was convenient with good lighting. Breakfast was good. All around a great experience.
Facilities were easy to find ( on the main road going into the city). Clean rooms and maid service provided every day. Plenty of ice in the ice machine. Excellent service (the clerck called me on the phone to verify my reservation since I was arriving late). Breakfast was simple, but that is all that I needed!
