This was my second time in the past month at the same property. The owners and staff are so friendly and helpful, and the place is comfortable and well situated..

One of the best hotels I've stayed in anywhere in the world. Staff was fantastic, ten-minute walk from the temples and buses, and the private onsens were extremely relaxing. Super clean, air conditioned, some rooms have Western-style beds, some traditional. I can't say enough good things about it.

Fantastic location in a quiet neighborhood away from pretty much everything touristy, but it was close to some beautiful sights, and I could hear and see the river from my room. It was also just a short walk from an excellent sukiyaki restaurant, where I had a terrific meal. The traditional Japanese bath was very relaxing, and the breakfast was a little pricey but worth it: fresh fruit, good strong coffee, fresh juice, hard-boiled egg, and three kinds of toast! The TV was small, but that actually seemed appropriate with the beautiful nature outside the window; I never even turned it on! There were cheap, delicious snacks for sale, vending machines with juice, water, tea, coffee, and alcohol, a free water dispenser, fridge/freezer, and comfortable sitting areas with fabulous coffee table books about Nikko and Japan.
