Located in Central Kedah, this hotel provides simple accommodations with air conditioning and private bathrooms. Rainbow Hotel is a 5-minute walk from Alor Star Mall and offers free Wi-Fi in the entire hotel. The hotel is located a 20-minute drive from Alor Star Tower and 25 minutes from Star Parade. It takes 30 minutes by car from the hotel to Alor Star Airport and Muzium Padi. Darul Aman Lake is a 40-minute drive away. The rooms at Hotel Rainbow are fitted with tiled flooring and freshly laundered beddings. They are equipped with a satellite TV, a DVD player and a work desk. A hairdryer and ironing facilities are provided on request. For meals, guests can sample local specialties at the My Place Kopitiam restaurant located right behind the hotel. There are water dispensers on every floor of the hotel.

Shoes and sandals are prohibited within the hotel premises so the property is clean at a whole different level. I also like the fact that they use fast rebound pillows as their standard sleeping pillows which are more comfortable and supportive compared to the cheap, microfiber ones that most other hotels use. It's a welcome difference and a distinctive feature of the hotel. Finally, guests are mostly quiet and considerate which is great if you want to sleep in a little.
