This charming family-run hotel has a great restaurant and a wonderful, peaceful location on Whitby’s West Cliff, near the seafront and within walking distance of the town center. A private on-site car park is available to guests for an additional cost. With a 3-star rating from VisitBritain, this elegant hotel offers comfort and hospitality just a short stroll from the narrow streets and winding alleyways of this delightful, historic town. All of the rooms with attached bathroom are tastefully decorated and furnished to high standards. Each spacious room has a TV, radio, telephone, hairdryer, and tea/coffee making facilities. The Fairfield Restaurant offers traditional English food, prepared daily in the kitchens and complemented by specialty desserts.

Lovely staff can't do enough for you
Food was great

Lovely little walk to harbour
What a fabulous hotel - very clean and quiet and with staff who were all extremely friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely top floor room (deluxe double room 22), which was perfect for our needs. Dinner was really good and we loved the traditional way that we had full waitress service and that the side dishes we ordered were served in trays for us to serve ourselves from, just as it was in times past. By no means an old-fashioned hotel, this was just a lovely traditional style venue that we would 100% recommend and visit again.
Room was a nice size. Customer service was excellent from check in to breakfast - lovely staff who made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was lovely and a vast selection that would have something for everyone. The staff serving breakfast went out of their way to make it a personable experience. Great location. Only a ten minute walk into town. We would definitely go back
The Saxonville is a comfortable and traditional seaside hotel, obviously looked after with pride by the owners. Alison provided us with personal and professional care in the dining area and the meals were superb. Just out of the busy area of Whitby it offers a quiet stay with a private car park, all within an easy stroll of the beachfront and town area.
