It's an old building with loads of character.. our room was amazing we stayed in the Dick Turpin suite which was delightful and full of character.. loved the little details.. the bed was super comfy too.. it's right in the middle of thirsk town which is a lovely place..
Clean facilities, secure parking, very friendly staff, big room with very comfortable furnishings and within walking distance to James Harriet museum. We also found out the Golden Fleece Hotel was actually The Drover pub in the James Harriet books.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this little gem of a hotel and its excellent restaurant. All the staff were incredibly kind and helpful and the town of Thirsk is quaint and lovely. Actually ended up eating dinner there both nights because of the incredible food. And their breakfast was great, too.
It was an extremely hot day and night and we were very grateful for the fan that you put into our room (22)
The staff were really friendly they helped us check in on arrival and kept our bags for us while we had to go out the next day. We had a meal in the evening and it was excellent And the staff waiting our table were very kind and professional
