Surrounded by lovely greenery in the heart of vibrant Keswick center, YHA Keswick is just a 10-minute walk from Lake Derwentwater. It features a restaurant and self-catering kitchen. YHA Keswick is set within a picturesque house on the banks of the River Greta. Keswick’s unique shops and restaurants are all within 15 minutes’ walk. Guests can rent a boat on Derwentwater, or enjoy a walk up Skiddaw Mountain, 10 minutes’ drive away. Guests can make use of the self-catering kitchen and dining room at YHA Keswick. A small shop is also available for guests. Wi-Fi access is available, along with luggage storage. The majority of rooms contain bunk beds.

The people at the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful. Given how many people on a floor were sharing the showers and toilets, they were very clean and I appreciated that they were separate and individual. The drying room was very helpful too! The breakfast options were of good value. As others mention, the river sounds outside the window were lovely to fall asleep to.
Check-in wasn't until a few hours after we arrived in Keswick but they were great and let us leave our bags so we could go and get lunch. We had a family room which was great - all the kids had their own beds and loved the bunk beds. The room was clean and while we didn't have an ensuite, the bathroom and toilets weren't far away at all. It was great having the cafe downstairs (complete with small interesting things such as games and walk information) for an easy and really well-priced breakfast. I also liked that you could pay for towel hire.
There's a stream right next to the YHA and a playground so really useful when you've got kids who need to burn off energy. And if you stay there over a weekend, there's a kids parkrun which takes place every Sunday at 9am.
Excellent as always. Location, price, comfort, staff all perfect as usual. Shan't stay anywhere else in Keswick.
