The Hotel Acquarello is located in the Old Town of Lugano, right at the lower terminus of the funicular connecting the center to the main railway station. Renovated in 2014, all rooms feature air conditioning. Some rooms have a balcony and offer views over the roofs of Lugano. The multi-lingual staff is happy to give you recommendations about what to see and do in Lugano. Express breakfast is available in the lobby. Lake Lugano can be reached within a 5-minute walk and many shops and restaurants can be found in the immediate surroundings of the Acquarello hotel as well.

Perfect location if you travel by train. Also, the perfect location, situated in the center of Lugano.

The location is very handy being right by the funicular. I went for a larger room as it was further away from the funicular and I couldn't hear it. Breakfast is ok but not a large choice. The hotel has a small lift.
The location is relatively convenient. It's *right* next to the funicular for lugano central station. The HVAC was amazing and the bed was comfortable. The restroom was one of the better layouts. They had lots of free value adds. Breakfast was one of the better ones. Less than 10 minutes alking distance to basically everything you could need.
